Steel Round Tube

Round tube may be manufactured as welded or seamless material depending on the required specification and application. Available products can include carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and other grades. Surface conditions may range from black or mill finish to galvanized, painted, coated, or polished.

Important purchasing specifications include outside diameter, wall thickness, length, steel grade, manufacturing process, seam condition, dimensional tolerance, straightness, and surface finish. Tube can commonly be cut, drilled, bent, notched, rolled, threaded, and welded using procedures suitable for the selected grade and wall thickness.

The hollow construction can reduce weight compared with an equivalent solid bar while maintaining useful resistance to bending and torsion. For structural use, however, performance depends strongly on diameter, wall thickness, unsupported length, connections, loading, and section properties.

Steel Round Tube is suitable for both practical industrial assemblies and architectural metalwork. When corrosion resistance is important, galvanized or stainless products may provide a longer service life than unprotected carbon steel. Engineering review is recommended for load-bearing structures, pressure applications, or safety-critical components.
