Copper Flat Bar – C110
Copper Flat Bar C110 is a rectangular-section solid bar produced from Electrolytic Tough Pitch (ETP) copper, the most widely used grade of commercially pure copper in the world. It combines top-tier electrical and thermal conductivity with good mechanical strength, easy fabrication and long service life, which is why it is the standard material for busbars and current-carrying components in electrical distribution equipment.Flat bars are drawn or rolled to tight thickness and width tolerances, with square or rounded edges depending on the application. They are supplied in a range of tempers, from soft (annealed) for maximum formability to half-hard and hard for greater rigidity and strength, so you can choose the right balance between bendability and stiffness. Standard production follows ASTM B187 and equivalent European specifications such as EN 13601 and EN 12167 (Cu-ETP / CW004A).Material PropertiesComposition: Electrolytic Tough Pitch (ETP) copper, UNS C11000 (C110) / Cu-ETP CW004A, with a minimum copper content of 99.90%.Electrical conductivity: 100% IACS minimum in the annealed condition, the international benchmark for conductive metals.Thermal conductivity: approximately 390 W/m·K, among the highest of all engineering metals.Density: approximately 8.89 g/cm³. Melting point: approximately 1,083 °C.Corrosion resistance: excellent resistance to atmospheric exposure, fresh water and many industrial environments, developing a stable protective patina over time.Fabrication: outstanding cold-working, bending and forming behavior; can be soldered and brazed with excellent results. Welding is possible but requires care because of its oxygen content (use brazing or oxygen-free grades where gas-shielded welding is required).Typical ApplicationsBusbars and bus ducts in switchgear, distribution boards, control panels and transformersEarthing and grounding straps, lightning protection and substation grounding gridsBattery interconnects and current collectors for energy storage and electric vehiclesWelding fixtures, electrodes, anodes and commutator segmentsHeat sinks, heat exchangers and thermal management componentsArchitectural trim, decorative work and custom metal fabricationWhy Choose C110 Copper Flat BarLowest electrical losses in a solid conductor, improving energy efficiency and reducing heat build-upConsistent quality, uniform cross-section and a clean, smooth surface finishCan be punched, drilled, bent, sheared and machined to your exact drawingFully recyclable without loss of performanceAvailable in multiple widths, thicknesses and lengths, with cut-to-size optionsHandling tip: copper tarnishes naturally when exposed to air. For bolted electrical joints, clean the contact surfaces and consider tin or silver plating to maintain low contact resistance over time. Always specify the required temper, edge type (square or rounded) and dimensional tolerances when ordering.
